Yuuko Kanoe is objectively best girl and best waifu in every single piece of media ever conceived. No other being, living or dead, could ever dream to match her elegance and beauty. At a glance, one might think that the only possible way to describe Yuuko-san would be one specific word. Perfection.
This perfect image, however, is an illusion. It's only one side of something rather disturbing. The truth cannot hide itself. It requires assistance with regards to it's burial. People bury the truth, then lie on top of it.
The case of Yuuko Kanoe is an example of an extremely barbaric tradition deeply rooted in the history of our species. Human sacrifice. A young woman's future is sacrificed for essentially nothing. Due to the incompetence and illogical thinking of the village elders, Yuuko-san was selected as a sacrificial pawn in order to prevent more villagers succumbing to the deadly illness. The village elders sealed Yuuko-san away in the underground shrine that the village's school was built upon. Yuuko Kanoe ending up starving to death, completely in isolation.
Ultimately, her chance at living a normal life was thrown away all for the sake of appeasing the minds of paranoid retards.
Many years passed. Many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many years passed. As time continued it's endless march onwards, the soul of Yuuko-san remained behind on our plane of existence.
The ghost of Yuuko-san became an infamous story among the students of the village's school, though Their perception of her was not beautiful at all. The Yuuko-san that they claimed to see was a horrific, deathly entity. To the students, Yuuko Kanoe was nothing more than a vindictive curse.
This cursed version of Yuuko-san was not a falsehood, but rather a part of her entire being. The vengeful natured image of Yuuko Kanoe continued to grow and solidify it's foundation in the minds and hearts of the students of Seikyou Private Academy, until it was all she was known for. Yuuko Kanoe was a beautiful and kind girl when she was alive. To the students, however, all they saw her as was a monster.
Teiichi Niiya saw something different. He perceived Yuuko-san as she was when she was alive. He saw could only see the beauty of Yuuko Kanoe. He could only see her perfect side. And Yuuko-san loved that. After being isolated for decades, finally someone could see her as a pretty girl. Even when Teiichi-kun was eventually forced to confront the monstrous part of Yuuko Kanoe, he accepted her.
In conclusion, ghost girls are fucking awesome and Teiichi Niiya is one lucky bastard.
